Knight Commission Management Products and Services
Client Commission Arrangements derive from traditional third-party soft dollar agreements. In July 2006, the SEC published new guidance applicable to client commission arrangements.
Client Commission Arrangements (Knight’s Broker Select)
Client Commission Arrangements today provide greater flexibility to investment managers, allowing them to focus on selecting their best execution partners while simultaneously being able to generate research credits to pay for Section 28(e) eligible research and brokerage services.
Client Commission Arrangements are also being implemented via a cost-plus or an execution-plus model which helps promote greater transparency in respect to the execution and research components of a commission.
Direct Expense Programs for Hedge Fund Clients
For hedge fund clients that do not rely on the safe harbor provided by Section 28(e), Knight will make payments for products and services based upon commission credits generated. However, the client needs to be authorized to request and apply such payments for authorized products and services pursuant to disclosures in their offering memorandums and other documents.
Online Access to Knight Commission Management System
Knight is committed to providing the highest possible levels of service to Knight clients. Through the Knight Client Center, clients have direct access to Knight’s Commission Management System (CMS) through a secure link.
Knight clients can access their commission management information when they want to see it, while automating the majority of their administrative tasks.
