Knight Makes Additions to Listed Equities Trading Staff

JERSEY CITY, N.J., Oct 10, 2003 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Knight Trading Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: NITE) today announced that Joseph C. Mazzella has joined the firm as a Managing Director, Listed Trading, and M. Patricia Regan has joined as a Vice President, Listed Trading, effective immediately.

Mr. Mazzella, 37, spent more than a decade at Merrill Lynch in listed equities trading. Previously, he worked for Lehman Brothers and Drexel Burnham Lambert Inc. Ms. Regan, 34, joined Knight from Thomas Weisel Partners where she was a Senior Listed Trader. She has also worked in listed trading for Volpe Brown Whelan & Co. and Charles Schwab. Mr. Mazzella and Ms. Regan report to Larry E. Rehmer, 38, Managing Director and Head of Listed Block Trading.

Joseph C. Mazzella

Joseph C. Mazzella, 37, joined Knight after more than a decade in listed trading at Merrill Lynch. Most recently, Joe was a Managing Director for Listed Trading with responsibility across diverse sectors. He started at Merrill in 1993 as an Assistant in Listed Equities.

Joe came to Merrill from Lehman Brothers where, from 1990 to 1993, he managed small-to-mid-sized client accounts.

Joe began his career in 1985 at New York Stock Exchange specialist firm Carl H. Pforzheimer & Co., later Drexel Burnham Lambert Inc. He left for Lehman Brothers in 1990.

M. Patricia Regan
Vice President, Listed Trading
Knight Equity Markets, L.P.

M. Patricia Regan, 34, joined Knight from Thomas Weisel Partners where she was a Senior Listed Trader across multiple sectors, including specialty retail, hotels and casinos, commercial services, autos and airlines, and homebuilders. Patti started at the San Francisco firm in 2000 as a Junior Listed Trader in the technology sector.

Patti also worked in San Francisco for Volpe Brown Whelan & Co. as a Listed Trader with responsibility for building the listed desk and client relationships, and at Charles Schwab, where she was a Senior Sales Trader.

Patti started her career at LaBranche & Co. as a Specialist Clerk on the New York Stock Exchange. She has B.A. in Psychology from Lynchburg College.
